How to make your own Runescape Private Server!

~ Part 1 ~
Getting Java SDK

1. Go to this site java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
2. Download Java JDK, it should be called something like JDK 6 Update 16. Download and install it!

~ Part 2 ~
Port Forwarding

Note. This is the step where the most errors are made, make sure you do this step right!

1. Now go to this site www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm to Port Forward your router.
2. Choose your model, then choose any game.Note. Make sure you make a static ip
Note. When entering the details into the virtual servers, enter the static ip you made into the ip box

~ Part 3 ~
Getting a ip with no-ip.com

Now go to this site www.no-ip.com/.

1. Sign up, Should be self-explanatory
2. Click the "Add a host" button

3. Leave everything Default, except the Hostname spot. Type in a hostname that people will use to connect to your server, like mine is 1337runescape. Then choose an extension, mine is no-ip.biz
4. Go back to www.no-ip.com/, and click the "Download" tab.

5. Choose your operating system, download, install it, and run it.
6. You should now have a screen like this

Now click the box next to your server name.

~ Part 4 ~
Opening Port 43594

Note. If you have vista, instead of xp, this will be a bit different.
Note. If you have a mac, I have no idea how to do this step.

1. Open the START menu on your computer.
Note. If you cant figure this out, you cant run a server lol.
2. Click Control Panel
3. Click on Windows Firewall.
4. Click on Exceptions Tab
5. Click Add Port
6. Name it anything you want, but type 43594 into port number box, and choose tcp.
7. Click ok, then ok, then close out control panel

~ Part 6 ~
Configuring your Java Paths

1. Click the START menu button.
2. Click My Computer
3. Now click your C drive. Your C Drive may be named many things, like IBM_PRELOAD, Local Disk, Hard Drive, etc. Just look for a drive with a C in its name.
4. Click Program Files, then Java.
5. Look for the folder that says jdk at the beginning of the name, like jdk1.6.0_02. Copy the name of this folder, or write it down.
6. Now open your server source.
7. Look for something called compile.bat (it may be called something similar), Right Click on this and press Edit.
8. In it, it should say something like "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_02\bin/javac.exe", now change where it says jdk1.6.0_02 to the name of the folder you wrote down. like if you wrote down jdk1.6.0_16, then change it to "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_16\bin/javac.exe".

~ Final Part 7 ~
RUNNING THE SERVER!

1. Click run.bat, run server.bat, etc.

2a. If you chose Vital-X v2, go to the folder with all of the class3, class30, etc. and click play now.bat, play.bat, etc.
3a. In the client that pops up, type in the hostname you entered on no-ip.com.

2b. If you chose Cheezscape, go to www.moparscape.org/ and type in the hostname you made on no-ip.com

Great i got everything. just one problem, as you may have come into:

I cant get other people to get on my server. I enabled No-ip, (1337-runescape.no-ip.biz.), i ran the server, compiled, (that could be the problem, compiler might be screwed up..) not even i can connect to it without 127.0.0.1.. so yeah. can you help?

you most likely didnt port forward right if you cant get other to connect. I can explain this to you next time your on chat

I made sure it wasnt screwed up. the problem could be the ip i set it to.

Heres a copy of what it looks like/says:

Edit: this (^^) one looks just like the first one. The application name crap screwed it up but anyway, i mighta done the wrong ip?

ok, whats the number you entered to go to router config? it should be something like 192.168.1.1, this is your default gateway.

when you are setting up your static ip you must make the ip address have the same beginning as your default gateway, if your default gateway was 192.168.1.1, it must start with 192.168.1. then you may put any number for the 4th slot like 10, which would make it 192.168.1.10

now when you are in your router config, you have to do the virtual server setup (it may be called something else) you will enter what you entered before. but for the ip spot it must be 192.168.1.10 if thats what your static ip was
